Name of Project: Maritsa East Substation, Galabovo - erection of 400 kV and 31,5 kV Switchgears, 630 MVA Autotransformer 400/220/31,5 kV; Reconstruction and extension of 220 kV Switchgear

Description: This order has been awarded to EL KONTROL in June 2008 being the fourth consecutive 400 kV Substation in erection of which EL KONTROL takes part. The project represents a part of the investment program of NEC for development, modernization and reconstruction of Bulgarian power transmission system. At this stage the project concerns extension of Maritsa East, Galabovo Substation by erection of 400 kV distribution Switchgear. Main Contractor of the project is the Spanish power engineering and construction company Iberdrola Engineering and Construction. Assigned works include the following:
   
Lead in exploitation: 2009
   
Finished Activities:
▪ Primary commutation - installation of circuit breakers, current transformers, voltage transformers, disconnectors, surge arresters, isolation chains;
▪ Secondary commutation - installation of relay panels, control switchboards, AC and DC eternal power supply panels;
▪ Erection of cable trays;
▪ Laying and connection of power and control cables;
▪ Erection of Earthing installation and Lightning protection installation;
▪ Control tests of the equipment installed.
▪ Erection of guard and operational lighting installation in 400кV Open-yard Switchgear;
▪ Primary commutation in 31.5kV Open-yard Switchgear - installation of Circuit Breakers, Current Transformers, Voltage Transformers, Disconnectors, Surge Arresters, Insulation Chains;
▪ Primary commutation in 220kV Open-yard Switchgear - installation of Circuit Breakers, Current Transformers, Voltage Transformers, Disconnectors, Surge Arresters, Insulation Chains.
   
Other: A reference has been issued by El-Test EOOD as a proof for the prompt implementation of these orders.
