Retrofit of 20 kV Switchgear in 110/20 kV S/st Borisovgrad was contracted with the Partnership RETROFIT in which EL KONTRO is a leading partner. Project was awarded and implemented 100% by EL KONTROL.
Retrofit of a complex medium voltage switchgear (MV SWG) is modernization (replacement) of the existing primary facilities, integration of new facilities and repair of the secondary commutation, while the retrofit preserves the construction of the MV SWG.
The following activities were executed:
• Elaboration of project for primary and secondary commutation;
• Reconstruction of existing trolleys, by replacing oil-filled circuit breakers with vacuum circuit breakers - 15 units;
• Reconstruction of existing trolleys with sectional disconnectors - 2 units;
• Dismantle of existing equipment and installation of new one: current measuring transformers - 33 units, voltage measuring transformers - 33 units, surge arresters - 39 units.
• Substitution of the entire secondary commutation of the Low Voltage Section - 17 cubicles.
• Delivery of all necessary additional materials and equipment for implementation of the project. The main equipment - circuit breakers, measuring transformers, surge arresters and relay protection, were supplied by the client.
• Testing and commissioning of the installed equipment.
Works were carried out in stages, in coordination with the client, complying with the possibilities for switch off the equipment without interrupting the normal operating mode.
