Reconstruction and modernization of Street Lighting System in Bratya Daskalovi Municipality

Sector

Lighting Infrastructure

Location

Bratya Daskalovi Municipality

Date of assignment: August, 2025 / Completion date: March, 2026

The project includes the modernization of street lighting in eight settlements within Bratya Daskalovi Municipality and is implemented in three phases:

1. Replacement of Lighting Fixtures

A total of 3,000 street lamps were dismantled and replaced with new energy‑efficient LED lighting. The new LED luminaires provide higher energy efficiency, longer service life, and reduced environmental impact.

2. Manufacturing of Electrical Control Cabinets

To serve the system, 52 street lighting control cabinets were manufactured and installed. They are equipped with PLC controllers, HMI panels, 4G routers, three‑phase power meters, and switching equipment.

3. Implementation of a Smart Monitoring and Control System

The system is based on Power Monitoring Expert 2024 by Schneider Electric. It enables real‑time monitoring of all electrical parameters, consumption analysis, and automatic generation of detailed reports.

The system provides intelligent control via a central server with a visual interface. It automatically adjusts street lighting switching according to sunrise and sunset times and applies dimming during night hours through the luminaires’ built‑in drivers. This results in additional energy savings without compromising safety or visibility.

The system also performs diagnostics and alarming detecting incidents, non‑operational luminaires, as well as unauthorized connection of external consumers to the street lighting installations.
