The 110/20kV electrical substation Slaveykov powers key consumers in the city of Burgas including hospitals, shopping centers, childcare facilities, and households.
The project involves comprehensive reconstruction with a high level of complexity at energized facility.
In terms of construction еearthquake-proof reinforcement was carried out, along with a complete external and internal renovation of the substation's control & administrative building, constructed in 1954.
Regarding electrical scope, the indoor switchgear was reconstructed by complete substitution and modernization of the equipment.
A new 20kV NXAIR-type switchgear by Siemens, consisting of 54 air-insulated modules, has been installed in the indoor switchgear room. The new switchgear panels have been configured and integrated into the SCADA system for remote monitoring and control.
As part of the project, new 20kV cable lines were supplied and installed, and existing lines were extended. 20/0.4kV auxiliary transformers were installed. The 20kV feeders were connected to the new indoor switchgear, and the cables to three 110/20kV power transformers and to the 20/0.4kV medium-voltage auxiliary transformers were completely replaced.
In the final stage, control tests and commissioning tests were carried out, after which the switchgear was gradually put into operation.
This is the second project implemented by EL KONTROL at the Slaveykov substation. In 2012, the company carried out a complete reconstruction of the 110kV Switchyard.
The effect after modernization of the substation is a multiple improvement in its efficiency and safety. The implemented new systems and technologies ensure a stable and reliable electricity supply in the central urban area of Burgas.
